St. B's In Transition: The Latest

St. B

July 10, 2016: The vestry spent some time apart this past weekend considering both our finances and the search committee for a new rector.

    Warden's Update | 7.10.16

The vestry spent some time apart this past weekend considering both our finances and the search committee for a new rector.

-Finances: The vestry prayerfully considered ways to both increase giving and cut costs should giving not increase. If every adult member would add $10 to their weekly contribution the deficit would be eliminated.

-Family Garden: Installation will begin this week on the new paved section of the Family Garden. The work will be completed by early August. Dedicated pavers in honor of the Smiths can still be purchased here

-Interim Rector: The vestry hopes to have an interim rector in place by September 1.

-Search Committee: The vestry is accepting nominees for the search committe thourgh Monday, July 18. From the list of nominees, a slate will be slected that represents the demographic diversity of the parish. They will then select the search committee by casting lots, the same manner by which we elect vestry members. Nominees for the search committee are to be submitted to Seth Swihart or Kristin Chapman.

-Criteria for Nominees: 1. Good organizational skills 2. Able to get promised work done on time 3. Team player 4. Person of prayer 5. Active St. B's participant in good standing (attending church, giver of record, etc.) 6. Willing to work for the good of the church and not partisanship 7. Able to keep confidences. Please note that staff members, full or part time, and their spouses are not eligible to serve on the search committee.

Any questions regarding our finances or the search process can be directed to Seth Swihart, Sr. Warden, Kristin Chapman, Jr. Warden, or any member of the vestry.

Please continue to pray for the St. B's family as we continue to walk through this season of transition.

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP 818)
