From early times, Christian have observed the week preceding Easter with special devotion. During this Holy Week, we invite you to live the story of the last week of Jesus' life. Wave a palm, pick up a towel, pray in the garden, carry the cross, wait at the tomb, and see the Risen Lord.
The last three days of Holy Week, the three days preceding Easter Sunday are known as the Triduum, from the Latin meaning "three days". The liturgies of the so-called Triduum are in actuality one liturgy beginning with the Maundy Thursday Eucharist and foot washing, continuing on Good Friday with the veneration of the cross, and culminating with the renewal of our baptismal vows and the first Eucharist of the resurrection at the Great Vigil of Easter. Technically once we commence with worship on Maundy Thursday, we are not formally dismissed until we have celebrated the first Eucharist of Easter.
