Summer at St. B's

Summer at St. B's

During the summer months, we take a deep breath as a church family and alter slightly our rhythm of life on Sundays. We retract the number of regular offerings for children in particular and invite them to participate in the liturgy with their families. In June and July, we only offer nursery - 3 yrs. at 8:30 and nursery - pre-k at 10:30. Older children are invited to worship with their families using a special children's bulletin.

Centering Prayer Continues through the Summer

Rick Wood continues to offer Centering Prayer this summer in the Ministry House at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. Centering Prayer is an ancient way of praying that quiets the mind and stills the body. Step out of the traffic this summer and take 20 minutes a week to allow God to bring restoration and peace to your being. Questions? Please email Rick at .

Build Service into Your Summer!

Why not try a new service opportunity in your summer? Many St. B’s mission partners welcome volunteers, and have family-friendly opportunities. It could be delivering food boxes with Charis Ministries, or mobile meals to seniors with St. Luke’s. You could serve the homeless and help at Room in the Inn downtown, or with Open Table Nashville? Or hold a fundraiser to buy bus passes for young people to access services at STARS, or to donate to Rooftops to help a family pay the rent? There are many ways to serve, and if you invite others to serve with you, it’s a great way to build community!
